Public Investment Action Plan (PIAP) Open House
Please join the Community & Economic Development Office (CEDO) at an open house to solicit feedback on project concepts received through the City’s Public Investment Action Plan (PIAP). We received fifty concepts during a two-month Request for Concepts period for infrastructure improvements on the waterfront. These will now be reviewed by a Public Investment Team. Finalists will be invited to submit a full proposal this summer. Citizens can review the concepts and comment on them during two day-long open houses with all feedback going to the Public Investment Team for consideration.
Location: Fletcher Free Library, Fletcher Room (upstairs) Dates/Times: Tuesday, May 7th, 9am-9pm, Wednesday, May 8th, 9am-6pm

There’s a new event in town called the Champlain Maker Faire. If you are familiar with the Maker movement (Vermont Makers, Maker Faire, Make Magazine, etc…) then you’ll know what it’s all about. If you want to learn more, read about us.
What: This Call for Makers is for the Champlain Maker Faire which will host exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, maker spaces, talks, entertainment, food and much more

Wednesday May 2nd 2012 from 3:30 – 4:30 Vermont FabLab – 1st floor, Room 122A Votey Hall, UVM Campus
The Vermont FabLab is one of Vermont’s first Rapid Prototyping do-it-yourself maker spaces. You can read more about the FabLab here !
We’ll be giving demos of 3d printing, laser cutting (courtesy of an IBM community grant !) and circuit hacking .. We’ll have refreshments and we’ve even got some door prizes. Come see our facility, see our plans, and tell us how you’d like to use this facility and help us grow.
